Obituary

Louis (Newton) Ross,formerly of Belle Vernon died Monday March 1,1977,at his residence in Washington,D.C. Mr.Ross was born Dec.16,1912 in Pricedale,a son of the late Robert and Derry Ross. He attended Belle Vernon schools and,after serving in the Army in World War II,he moved to Washington,D.C. He was employed at St.Elizabeth Hospital and later at Mann Potato Chip Co.from which he retired. Mr.Ross was preceded in death by his wife,Gladys Addison Ross,on July 19,1970. Survivors include his daughter,Mrs.Joseph (Patricia) Johnson with whom he made his home,a brother,George W.Ross of Monessen,a sister,Mrs.Elizabeth Ross of Youngstown,Ohio and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held in the Rollins Funeral Home in Washington,D.C.on Saturday. Friends will be received in the Beverly C.Draper Funeral Home,608 Sixth St.,Monessen,from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m.in the Speers St. A.M.E.Church,Belle Vernon,with Rev.S.W.Chambers,pastor,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Beverly C.Draper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
