Obituary

Louis L.Mastronicola,Jr.,25,of 14 Third street,Charleroi was dead on arrival in the Charleroi-Monessen hospital,August 4,1949,at 12:25 p.m. following a truck crash on Route 71,near Bentleyville. Mr.Mastronicola, driver for Marsh Tire Co.,of Charleroi, was hurled from behind the wheel of the machine, when it struck an embankment and upset near the Gibson road cut-off. The driver was hurled thru the windshield and struck his head on the highway. The accident occurred about an eighth of a mile, east of Cappy's Service Station,Gibson road intersection. State ploice received the call to the accident at 12:05 p.m.,indicating it had occurred after 11:30 a.m. Friends will be received at the Francis C.Slezak Funeral Home. Services will be held there Monday,August 8,1949,at 2 p.m.,and interment will follow in Belle Vernon cemetery. American Legion Post 22 will have charge of military rites.
