Louis J. Silvania sr.,72,of 110 Main St.,Belle Vernon,died suddenly Wednesday, Aug. 11,1976 at 9 a.m. at his residence. Born May 13,1904,in Belle Vernon,he was a son of the late Fiore and Marie Scarcelli Silvania and a lifelong resident of the community. Mr. Silvania was a retired manager of the men's department at the former Collins Department Store in Charleroi. He retired in 1949. He was a post-World War I veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and a Roman Catholic by faith. Surviving are one son, Louis J.,Jr.of Columbus, Ohio,three brothers, Philip F. and John of Belle Vernon and Frank J. of Carbondale, Ill.,one sister, Mrs. Frank (Louise) Yemiolo of Bentleyville and one grandson. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday,Aug. 12,and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 13 in the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where a Blessing service will take place Saturday,Aug. 14,at 9:30 a.m.,followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian Catholic Church of Belle Vernon. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Leonard J.Parzynski is funeral director in charge.
