Louis Allen Saunders;1000 Nash avenue;Monessen;died Monday;January 26;1948;at 5:45 p.m.in the McKeesport Hospital of a broken neck suffered Saturday;when an automobile in which he was riding overturned and slid down an embankment near Donora. He was born in Belle Vernon January 13;1915 and had resided in Monessen for the past 20 years. He was a member of the Wayman A.M.E.Church. He was a World War II veteran;having served in the U.S.Army. He is survived by his mother;Mrs.Lillian Saunders McGrain;step-father;Morris McGrain;two brothers;Orvell and Harold;four sisters;Mrs.Helen Richards of Pittsburgh;Mrs.Louise Felder of New York;Miss Elizabeth Saunders of Monessen;and Mrs.Prudence Whitlock of New York. Friends will be received at the Edith M.Whitaker Funeral Home;645 McMahon avenue until Monday;February 2;when funeral services will be held at 1 p.m.in the Wayman A.M.E.Church;in charge of Rev.L.A.Cousin.
