Funeral services were held Thursday,July 4,1974 at 10:30 a.m. for Louis A. Baker,55,of Dunlevy who died Monday, July 1,1974 at 11 a.m. at work at the Allenport Plant of the Pittburgh Steel Corp.,apparently of a heart attack. Burial followed in Belle Vernon Cemetery. He was born in Roscoe on Aug. 14,1918 to Alexander M. and the late Ann Humphries Baker. He had been employed at the Allenport plant for the past 25 years. Mr. Baker was a member of the Lynnwood Lutheran Church, Charleroi BPOE Lodge and was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post. He is survived by his wife, the former Pauline Popik,at home; a son,William in England; two daughters, Miss Connie of California,Pa. and Mrs. Robert (Marlene) Klancher of Belle Vernon; his father and stepmother,Alexander and Mary Baker, both of New Castle; four brothers, William Humphries of Nevada, Eugene A. Baker of Sharon,Richard Baker of LePuente, Calif.,and Gerald F. Baker of New Castle; five sisters, Mrs. Alfred (Julia) Polombi of Long Beach, Calif.,Mrs. Kenneth (Eloise) Mason of LaPuente,Calif,Mrs. Leo (Delores) Nicholson,Mrs. Dennis E. (Rosemary) Book and Mrs. Charles (Debra) Fulmer,all of New Castle and seven grandchildren.
