Obituary

Lorraine L. Quintier, 82, of Belle Vernon, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. A daughter of the late Albert R. and Ethel Pearl Grubb Lemley, she was born in Van Meter on March 16, 1938 and resided there until her marriage to Thomas A. Quintier in 1960. She and her husband moved to Belle Vernon where they made their home. Lorraine was employed as a secretary for the West Newton Jr/Sr High School, then transferred to the Yough Sr High School, and retired in 2010 from the West Newton Elementary School after 54 years within the district. Lorraine was formerly a very active member of the First United Methodist Church in Belle Vernon, where she co-chaired the church picnic with her husband, Tom for over 20 years. She is the chairperson for the North Belle Vernon and Rostraver Youth Commission since its inception. Currently, she is also active in the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon and is a member and President of the Belle Vernon Library Board of Directors where she volunteered in the library. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Quintier on November 5, 2013; brothers, Robert Lemley, Sr., Glen, Leonard, Carl, Donald and Jim Lemley; sisters, Alberta Bittner, Mary Lassalle, Barbara Krasonic, Nina Valent, and Betty Lemley in infancy; and a niece, Heidi Valent Frederick on November 10, 2013. Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Lana Lemley of Belle Vernon; a sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Charles Christner of Belle Vernon; many nieces and nephews, including Brianna Frederick and Emily Frederick, her only Godchild, who made her home with Lorraine; two brothers-in-law, Don Kransonic and Joe Tillman, both of Belle Vernon; sisters-in-law, Gloria Lemley of Grafton, WV, Ruth Lemley of Arnold City, Ruth Lemley of Ohio, Patricia Lemley of Belle Vernon, and Joanne Schuster of Monongahela. Lorraine also leaves behind her wonderful neighbors and many dear friends especially Rose C., Debbie P., Linda F., Dolores R., Joyce S., Joanne P., Patti G. and Dot S. Face masks and social distancing are required in the funeral home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 A.M. in the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon with Rev. Mary Kay Glunt and Rev. Sue Currie co-officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Tom in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
