Obituary

Lorees C. Sherman, 93 of Warsaw went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 25, 2023

at Paddock Springs Assisted Living, Warsaw.

She was born on March 29, 1930, in Charleroi, Pennsylvania to the late James and Celestine (Nucci) Lavery. In 1948, she attended Belmar High School, Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania. She had a beautiful voice that matched her outside beauty, and she even sang once with Tony Bennett.

On June 30, 1973, Lorees was united in marriage to Max Sherman in Detroit, Michigan. They would make Warsaw, Indiana their home in 1975 and cherish 50 years of laughs, humor and love. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw.

Her kids treasure memories spending summers in the pool with their mother who was a fantastic swimmer. She was a devoted housewife and kept a spotless home. She loved home decorating, baking and cooking. She enjoyed listening to smooth jazz and shopping trips. Lorees and Max would do yearly trips to Florida for a couple months. She loved being by the water and taking cruises.

She is survived by her Husband, Max Sherman, Warsaw, and children: Kathy (Michael) Couvillion, of Covington, LA, Laurie (Marshall) Marracini of McKeesport, PA, James (Teri) Sidary of Monessen, PA; step-children: C. Elaine (Andrew) Sherman of Pittsburgh, PA, Maxine (Michael Ferrari) Sherman of Hastings on the Hudson, NY and Joel (Stephanie) Sherman of Pittsburgh, PA; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Lorees was preceded in death by her parents.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church with Fr. David Langford officiating.

The Sherman Family is kindly requesting that the memorial contributions be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
