Obituary

 

Loral Jean Taylor, 80, of Charleroi, went home to be with her Lord and savior on Friday, March 7, 2014, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born on Oct. 21, 1933, to the late Charles Randolph and Elizabeth Bonds Randolph. She was an only child to this union. Married to the late William R. Taylor Jr. on Sept. 4, 1954, for 27 years, she was employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, where she was a supervisor for the Department of Labor and Industry until her retirement. A graduate of Connellsville High School, she also received her Bachelor of Science degree in business, graduating 12th in her class. A member of the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, most of her adult life, she was the choir director organist, Sunday school teacher and former church treasurer. Mom Taylor as she was so affectionately called, loved everybody and always welcomed you with open arms in her home. She leaves to cherish her memories five children, Trudy Taylor-Williams (Rodney Jr.), W. Gale Shorter (Ray) of San Jose, Calif., Eric N. Taylor (Lydia) of Canonsburg, Lori D. King (Anthony) of Charleroi, and Sheri B. Anderson (Gary) of Charleroi, and a devoted son-in-law, Anthony Bristol of Charleroi, 10 grandchildren, Taylor A. Smith and husband, William, John R. Bristol, Anthony W. Bristol, Walter Hughe III, Kaycee Parker, Eric N. Taylor II, Brittany Taylor, Lorawn L. Dupree, Elder Randy Taylor and Kathe Taylor, three great-grandchildren, Jayden A. Bristol-Smith, William Scoop Smith and Nia Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Visitation will be Friday, March 14, 2014, from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 20 Broughton Ave., North Charleroi. At 7:30 p.m. a time for reflections will take place. Funeral service will be Saturday, March 15, 2014, at 1 p.m. From Mt. Sinai Baptist, Elder Randy C. Taylor, her grandson, of the Life of Church, Homestead, Pa., will give the eulogy. Officiating will be the pastor of Mt. Sinai Baptist, the Rev. Dr. F. Diane Hobson. Arrangements have been entrusted to the WILLIAM R. TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 645 McMahon Ave., Monessen, Pa. TRUDY TAYLOR WILLIAMS, funeral director in charge.
