Obituary

Lois J. Lenhart, 86, of 804 Jane Avenue, Charleroi, died June 20, 2002, in Mon Valley Hospital. She was born May 28, 1916, in Brownsville, a daughter of the late Leslie L. and Elizabeth Jarrett Thompson. Mrs. Lenhart was a member of Speers United Methodist Church and the Fidelis Guild of the church. A homemaker and graduate of the Belle Vernon High School, she was a longtime resident of Belle Vernon and Charleroi. Survivors include two nephews, Richard Springer of Beach Haven, N.J., and Jerome Magistrella and wife Joan of Clarion, one niece, Diane McCarty of Point. Pleasant, N.J., one great-nephew, Quinn McCarty of Phoenix, Ariz., two great-nieces, Eugenia McCarty Rendler and husband Devereaux of San Jose, Calif., and Vickie Springer Adams and husband Richie of Levittown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lenhart, one brother, Harold Thompson, and two sisters, Ruth Thompson Springer and Edythe Thompson Magistrella. Graveside committal services will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery Thursday, July 18, at 2:30 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service in Speers United Methodist Church at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Jeff St. Clair officiating. The family requests memorials be made to the Memorial Fund of Speers United Methodist Church, Rebecca Street, Charleroi, Pa. 15022, or the Washington Area Humane Society, P.O. Box 66, Route. 136, Eighty Four, Pa. 15330. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc., Belle Vernon, is handling the arrangements.
