Obituary

Lloyd M.Christopher of 427 Hills St.,Belle Vernon,died suddenly on Saturday,Oct.11,1986,at 9:40 p.m. at his home. He was 71. Mr.Christopher was born Nov.20,1914,in Charleroi,a son of the late Thomas and Donna Ramsey Christopher. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife,Margaret J.Holder Christopher,Sept.8,1975,a son,Lloyd D.Christopher,and a brother,Robert Christopher. A lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area,he was Protestant by faith. Mr.Christopher was a veteran of World War II,having served in the U.S.Army. A life member of the North Belle Vernon Volunteer Fire Department,he was also a member of the Westmoreland County Firemen's Association,the Charleroi Musical Society and the Tri-County Federation of Musicians. Mr.Christopher retired in 1982 as a bus driver for the Charleroi Area School District. Survivors include a son,Richard C.Christopher of Belle Vernon,a daughter,Mrs.Scott (Peggy) Huscroft of Belle Vernon,a brother,Herman C.Christopher of Donora,six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where services will be held Wednesday,Oct.15,at 11 a.m.with the Rev.Jack E.Elder,pastor of the Fayette City United Methodist Church,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. North Belle Vernon Volunteer Fire Department will hold services Monday at 7:30 p.m.in the funeral home. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
