Obituary

Lloyd L. Amato, 84, of Belle Vernon, Washington Township, died Friday, March 2, 2012, at 9:40 a.m. at Monongahela Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. Born Jan. 15, 1928, in North Belle Vernon, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary L. Edwards Amato. He was a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon and was a veteran of the Korean War where he served in the U.S. Army. Lloyd worked as a grocery store manager at various grocery stores throughout the Mon Valley and later owned and operated the Lynnwood Superette. Lloyd was a wonderful, kind man who loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Cleo Robinson Amato, to whom he was married 30 years, a daughter and son-in-law, Prevail and Sheldon Hall, of Belle Vernon, four stepdaughters, Debbie Vedder, of Monongahela, Kathy and Sam Vignoli, of New Eagle, Carol Cook and fiance, Tim Smith, of Monongahela, and Kelly and Rick Dieteman, of Monongahela, a sister and brother-in-law, Sarafene and Norman Huscroft, of Belle Vernon, nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and two nephews, Scott Huscroft and wife, Peggy, of North Belle Vernon, and Greg Huscroft, of Belle Vernon. He is preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Kimberly Cook and a brother S. Joseph Amato. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, (724) 929-6183. Services will be held Monday at the Parzynski Funeral Home And Cremations at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Steve Mentzer Chaplain of Southern Care Inc. officiating.
