Obituary

Lloyd A. Hite,58, of 933 Athalia Ave.,Monessen, died in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital on Monday, Oct. 9,1967 at 8:50 p.m.  Mr. Hite, a craneman in the blooming mill of the Monessen plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co.,had been off work since November,1966 because of ill health.  Mr. Hite was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and B.P.O. Elks, both of Monessen. He lived most of his life in Monessen.  He was born in Duquesne on May 6,1909. Surviving are his widow, Vivian Baird Hite; three sons, Lloyd K. of Lynnwood, Larry R. of Sewickley and James B. at home; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Nancy) Sharn of Dormont and Christine Hite at home; his mother, Mrs. Alice Hite of Monessen;two sisters, Mrs. George Winstone of Belle Vernon and Mrs. Elmer Crail of New Kensington and nine grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Edwin Melenyzer Funeral Home,Monessen, from 7 to 10 p.m. Oct. 10 and from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Oct. 11.  Service there Thursday, Oct. 12 at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Glen Borrows,pastor of Monessen's First Presbyterian Church, officiating.  Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
