Obituary

The death angel on Monday October 6,1925,removed one of Monessen's most estimable women,when Mrs.Linda Matson was called to rest after a lingering illness of a year's duration.  Suffering of a complication of diseases,Mrs.Matson spent some time in the Passavant hospital,Pittsburgh,but about a month ago was brought to her hme,215 Schoonmaker avenue and has been under the care of her sister,Mrs.M.V.Dunn of Chicago.  Little hopes were entertained for her recovery and death at 4 o'clock on Monday afternoon relieved her sufferings.  The deceased was 59 years of age and besides her husband,Fred L. Matson,is survived by one son,Don F.Matson and the following brothers and sisters,Robert McMillen,of Endeavor,Pa,Samuel McMillen,of New Castle,Pa,Mrs.Mary Willings,of Dewey,Okla.,Mrs.J.W.Smith,of Dewey,Okla.,Mrs.Charles Smith,of Clawson,Mich.,and Mrs.M.V.Dunn,of Chicago,Ill.  She was a devout member of the Presbyterian Church of Monessen and was active in all religious work giving special attention to the Home and Foreign Missionary Work,as well as active in the W.C.T.U.  Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m.from the late home and will be in charge of Rev.McFarland,pastor of the the First Presbyterian Church.  Interment will be made in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
