Lillian V.Bowers;79;of the Belle Vernon Apartments died Saturday;Nov.21;1981;at 11 a.m.in Uniontown Hospital. Mrs.Bowers was born Dec.7;1901;in Jeannette;a daughter of the late John and Annie Thomas Montgomery. A resident of Belle Vernon for over 55 years;she was a retired teacher having taught at Marion Public School. Mrs.Bowers was a member of the First Christian Church;Monessen. Survivors include her widower;Howard F.Bowers;two sons;the Rev.Vernon H.Bowers of Mt.Lebanon and Melvin L.Bowers of Owantonna;Minn.;one brother;James Montgomery of Marion;Ind.;seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.Services will be held in the funeral home Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev.Howard E.Bowers of Oak Hill Christian Church;Butler;officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson is funeral director in charge of arrangements.
