Obituary

Lida Ann Hackenson,69,of 706 Speer St.,Belle Vernon,died Wednesday,July 26,1995,at 1:30 a.m. in South Hills Convalescent Home. Born May 6,1926 in North Charleroi,she was a daughter of the late Harry and Leona Anderson Irwin. Mrs.Hackenson was a member of First Baptist Church of Belle Vernon and the Belle Vernon American Legion Auxiliary. A lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area,she was former owner/operator of Irwin's Flower Shop for 30 years,retiring in 1984. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband,Elmer J.Hackenson,on Sept.10,1984. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law,Larry L.and Wendy Hackenson of Pittsburgh,two brothers,Glenn Irwin of West Chester and Harry Irwin of St.Joseph,Missouri,and one granddaughter,Meghan. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev.Dr.Thomas St.Clair,pastor of the First United Methodist Church,Belle Vernon,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc is in charge of arrangements.
