Obituary

Lewis Raymond Ray,1041 Knox Ave.,Monessen,died Monday,May 8,1961,at 7:52 p.m.in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital,where he had been admitted one hour earlier. He was stricken while attending a board of directors meeting of Monessen Volunteer Fire Co.No.1. He was born in North Charleroi and served as a fireman there for a number of years. He had been a Monessen fireman for the past six years. Mr.Ray was employed at the Monessen plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co. He was a member of St.Cajetan R.C.Church,Monessen and the Holy Name Society of the church,B.P.O.Elks Lodge 773 and the Ravens Club of Monessen and of the French Club of North Charleroi. Survivors include his widow,Valia Dalfonso Ray and a daughter,Karen,at home. Friends are being received at the H.Denver Rhome Funeral Home,Monessen. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m.on Friday morning at the funeral home with additional rites at 10 a.m.at St.Cajetan R.C.Church of Monessen with the Rev.Nunzio Pirulli,pastor,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. H.Denver Rhome,funeral director.
