Obituary

Lewis J. Comer, 75, of Washington, formerly of Rostraver, died Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at home. Born in Smithton on January 10, 1933, he was the son of the late James and Beatrice (Lynn) Comer. Mr. Comer was a truck driver for the former SuperValu grocery warehouse in Rostraver and retired in 1995. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Houston. He is survived by his 3 sons, Lewis J. (Amy) Comer, Jr. of Washington,with whom he made his home, James A. Comer of Rostraver, and David A. (Becky) Comer of Belle Vernon, daughter, Beatrice Porter of New Kensington, 3 grandchildren, Chris Porter and Austin & Bayleigh Comer, mother-in-law, Yolan Turda of Rostraver, 7 sisters, Edith Steadman & Betty Lebe, both of Smithton, Evelyn Lynn of North Carolina, Helen Comer of Belle Vernon, Maxine Stahl & Madeline Fisher, both of Smithton, and Cheryl Hoffer of Acme, 2 uncles, Calvin Comer of Smithton and Samuel Comer of West Newton, and caregiver, Kathy Gross of Washington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Yolan Dolly Comer in 2003. Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 29 at 11:00 am with the Rev. Kent Lighthall officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
