Obituary

Lewis I.Lindey,80,of Brownstown,Fayette City R.D.1,died suddenly at home Wednesday,Nov.28,1990 at 9:30 a.m.  He was born in Washington Township,Fayette County on July 25,1910,a son of the late John and Phyllis Davies Lindey.  Mr.Lindey was a member of the Christian Alliance Church of Brownstown and the Fayette City-Washington Township Lions Club.  He was retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corporation Allenport Plant Tube Mill in 1975,after 41 years of service.  In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by his wife,Gretchen Lindey in March of 1982,a son,John Lindey in May of 1987,a brother,Stanley Lindey,and a sister,Lavinia Jones.  He is survived by two sons,William and Larry Lindey,both of Miami,Fla.,three sisters,Mrs.Mary Jolley,Mrs.Phyllis Hickey and Mrs.Olive Cope and her husband Paul,all of Fayette City Rd.,10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.  Friends will be received at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 11 a.m.with the Rev.Paul Cope of Mars and the Rev.Charles Martzall,pastor of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Fayette City,officiating.  Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
