Obituary

Lewis H. Beaumont Sr., 94, of Monessen, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, in Monongahela Valley Hospital. He was born March 10, 1917, in North Belle Vernon, son of the late Oliver H. and Ethel M. Beaumont. Mr. Beaumont was a member of the First Baptist Church in Belle Vernon. A World War II veteran, he served with the Air Force in the China Burma Campaign as a staff sergeant. Mr. Beaumont was self-employed as a sign painter and had painted for numerous advertising companies and businesses throughout the Mon Valley. A lot of his work is still recognizable throughout the area. He loved to do oil paintings in his spare time. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Margaret E. Betty Bronder Beaumont, a daughter, Mary Beaumont, and a grandson, Lewis Cochran. Survivors include three sons, Lewis H. Beaumont Jr., of Coraopolis, Dennis Beaumont and wife, Darla J., of Centerville, and John Beaumont and wife, Shirley, of Monessen, three daughters, Carol Cochran and husband, Robert, of Charleroi, Kathleen Nichols and husband, Carl, of Monessen, and Michelle Lyons and husband Edward, of Monessen, grandchildren, Christopher Cochran, John Beaumont, Adam Beaumont, Carl Nichols Jr., Melissa Swiantek, Dawn Rutherford, and Lauren E. Beaumont, great-grandchildren, Samantha and Cassandra Swiantek, David Rutherford, Autumn and Michael Cochran, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held in the RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, on Thursday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be held in the First Baptist Church, Belle Vernon, on Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ronald W. Malm officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Baptist Church, Belle Vernon.
