Lewis E. Gilliland,age 58 years of 31 Solon St.,Belle Vernon,died Tuesday,February 5,1974 in the Charleroi-Monessen Hospital at 1:15 p.m. He was born in Butler County on November 21,1915. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Belle Vernon,the Belle Vernon American Legion,the East Belle Vernon Athletic Club,a life member of the N. Belle Vernon Fire Dept.,the V.F.W. of Charleroi and was a veteran of World War ll. Surviving are his wife,Margaret Daniero Gilliland; a son, Lewis E. Jr. of Fort Pierce,Fla.;and a sister, Mrs. Natalie Piper of Sayre,Pa.Friends are being received in the Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon where funeal services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. Rev. Seth P. Bower will officiate. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
