Obituary

Lewis Conn, 93, of Belle Vernon died Saturday, November 24, 2007 in his home. A son of the late Rosario and Rose Renzi Conn, he was born in Tyler, PA on November 5, 1914. Catholic by faith, he had lived his entire life in Belle Vernon. He was the first person to do refrigeration work in the Mon Valley, had owned and operated Conn’s Refrigeration since 1947 and in the later years he worked with his son, Chooch, in the same business. Lewis also served in the U.S. Army in South Africa during World War II. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph & Elaine Conn and Alex ‘Chooch’ and Denise Conn, all of Belle Vernon, three grandchildren, Nicole Niles and her husband Clay of Stafford, VA, Kimberly Conn and Alexis Conn, both of Belle Vernon and two great-grandchildren, Trevor and Teagan Niles. Mr. Conn, the last surviving member of his immediate family, was also preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Lackner Conn on September 17, 2002 and three brothers, Anthony, Michael and Ralph Conn. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Monday in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., (724-929-5300), 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon, www.fergusonfuneralhomeandcrematory.com, where a blessing service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
