LeRoy R. Bailey Sr.,85,of 936 Grant Ave.,Monessen,died Monday, Dec.7,1992,at Mon Valley Hospital,following a lingering illness. He was born Feb. 1,1907,in Pittsburgh,a son of the late Jeremiah and Ella Bailey. Mr. Bailey was a resident of Monessen for the past 71 years. He had served as a Monessen police officer for more thatn 30 years an retired with the rank of Lieutenant. He was a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church of Monessen and was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Mr. Bailey is survived by his wife, Gussie Lou Bailey; four daughters, Charlotte Adams of Donora,Leona Mitchell of Fairfield,Calif.,Deborah Gary of Cleveland,Ohio,and Hilda Fields of McKeesport, one son, LeRoy R. Bailey Jr. of Fort Washington,Md.,one sister,Hilda Rendleman of Monessen,15 grandchildren,nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Bailey. Friends will be received at the Beverly C. Draper Funeral Home,Monessen,Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. A Blessing service will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home,followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church,Monessen,with the Rev. Dennis Sheehy,pastor,as celebrant. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Beverly C.Draper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
