Obituary

Leroy D. Weaver of 220 Charles St.,Fairhope,Belle Vernon,died suddenly Friday, Sept. 1,1978 at 9:08 p.m. in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital.  He was 65. Mr. Weaver was born Feb. 8,1913 in Monongahela, a son of Mrs. Margaret Amalong Weaver of Belle Vernon,who survives,and the late Jess Weaver.  He was a lifetime resident of the Belle Vernon area and retired in 1968 from the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.  He also had been a local antique dealer.  A Protestant by faith, he was a World War II veteran,having served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his mother,he is survived by his widow,Helen Cowan Cernicky Weaver;one daughter,Mrs. Douglas (Bette) Catheart of Hawaii; one son,Roy L.Weaver of Belle Vernon;two stepsons,Dennis Cernicky of Long Branch and William Cernicky of Belle Vernon;one brother,Lawrence Weaver of Fairhope;one sister,Mrs. Joseph (Bonnie) Dorsey of Fairhope;nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon from 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday.  Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. S. Arthur Talman of the First Presbyterian Church,officiating.  Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  The Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
