Leonard T. Lucas,810 Cardiff Ave.,Belle Vernon,died suddenly Saturday, Sept. 30,1978 at 12:32 p.m. in the Monongahela Valley Hospital,Inc. He was 71. Born June 25,1907 in Bethesda, Ohio,Mr. Lucas was the son of the late Thomas and Margaret Fulton Lucas. He had lived in the Belle Vernon area since 1947,and was a former resident of Charleroi. Mr. Lucas had retired in 1972 as an electrical foreman at the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Monessen plant. He was a veteran of World War II. He is survived by his widow, Mildred Webb Lucas;two sons; Leonard R. Lucas of Lockport,N.Y. and Captain Dean T. Lucas,serving with the U.S. Marines of Quantico,Va.; three sisters, Mrs. Eileen Van Fossen of Bethesda, Ohio, Mrs. Bessie Garrett of Barnsville, Ohio and Mrs. Eula Armstrong of Anaheim, Calif and four grandchildren. Friends are being received in the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. from the funeral home,with the Pastor Hartzell A. Michael,pastor of the Lynnwood Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D. Ferguson,funeral director, is in charge of arrangements.
