Leona Gialas;89;of North Largo;Fla.;formerly of Washington;Pa.;and Belle Vernon;died Thursday;Oct.22;1992;in University General Hospital;Seminole;Fla. Mrs.Gialas was born Dec.14;1902;in Monessen;a daughter of the late Leon and Natalie Veydt Denamur. She had been a resident of Florida since 1990. Mrs.Gialas was a member of St.Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church;Monessen. In addition to her parents;Mrs.Gialas was preceded in death by her husband;Steve;who died in 1959;by a brother;George;who died in 1945;and by two granddaughters;Leona and Georgene Essey. Surviving are one daughter;Mrs.George (Angelina) Essey;with whom she made her home;and one granddaughter;Michele Reagan of Greensburg. Friends will be received Thursday from 11 a.m.to 1 p.m.;the hour of services in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
