Leola A.Driver of 436 Knox Ave.;Monessen;died Friday;July 19;1985;at 5 a.m. in Jefferson Memorial Center;Jefferson Borough. She was 71. Mrs.Driver was born Jan.17;1914;in Miland;Ga.;a daughter of the late Stanley and Mina Payne Patterson (who died Aug.30;1983). A Baptist by faith;she had lived in Monessen for over 60 years. She was a member of Mt.Calvary Baptist Church;Monessen;and had been an active member of the church as long as her health permitted. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;William Driver;on April 19;1976. Surviving are one step-son;Robert Y.Tarpley;of Monessen;one daughter;Frances Clayton Brown;of Monessen;two step-daughters;Bonnie Mays of Monessen and Betty Johnson of Carroll Twp.;a foster sister;Ulah Mae Abbott;of Charleroi;a step-sister;Essie Easterling;of Cheraw;S.C.;an aunt;Mamie Ash;of Monessen;seven grandchildren;three great-grandchildren;nieces;nephews;god-children;cousins and other relatives. Friends will be received Sunday from 3 to 9 p.m. in the William R.Taylor Funeral Home;645 McMahon Ave.;Monessen;and on Monday in Mt.Calvary Baptist Church;Monessen from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.;the hour of services in the church with the Rev.Griffin E.Mason;pastor;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery;Belle Vernon. The William R.Taylor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
