Obituary

An Arnold City woman was killed Saturday night, Feb. 16,1980 in a head-on collision in Jefferson Twp.,Fayette City. Lenora Maxine Hess, 41,of 106 Mikula Road, Arnold City,died as a result of a neck fracture. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:50 p.m. Saturday,20 minutes after the accident,which occured on Legislative Route 26018.  Police said the road was icy at the time. A passenger in the Hess car,Timothy Cathers,9,of Arnold CIty,was taken to Brownsville Hospital,where he is listed in stable condition. Miss Hess,who was a supervisor at Charland Sportswear,Inc. of Speers, was born July 20,1938,in Washington Twp.,daughter of Leona Rodgers Hess and the late George Hess. She was preceded in death by her father in 1972 and a brother in 1964. Surviving are her mother; four sisters, Mrs. Walter (Catherine) Muztafago of McKeesport,Mrs. Richard (Betty) Durry of R.D.1,Fayette City,Mrs. Cathy Stychalski at home and Mrs. John (Karen) Bobich of Jacobs Creek; several nieces and nephews ad a fiance,Lester Tentler of Brownsville. Friends will be received at the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home, Fayette City,after 7 p.m. Tuesday. Services will be held  at 1 p.m. Thursday,witht the Rev. George McNeel,pastor of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Fayette City,officiating.  Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
