Obituary

Lenhart A. (Whitey) Kollar,of 806 Conrad Ave.,North Charleroi,died suddenly in his home at 10:30 p.m.Saturday,Feb.21,1981. He was 65. Mr.Kollar was born Feb.5,1916,in Crucible,Greene County,Pa.,a son of the late Paul and Helen Sloboda Kollar. He was a Protestant by faith. Mr.Kolar had retired in 1978 as an industrial engineer for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation's Allenport Plant. A 1935 graduate of Charleroi High School,he was a U.A.Army veteran of World War II,having served in the African Campaign with the 101st Military Police. Mr.Kollar was an active member of the Toast-To-Our-Stars Club of North Charleroi,having served as secretary-treasurer from 1950-1970. He was also a member of the Brightwell-Dougherty American Legion Post 484,Fayette City,Arden Calvert Post 167 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Charleroi,and the Slovak Citizen's Club,North Charleroi. Survivors include his widow,Elizabeth Emelo Kollar,ar home,one son,Lenhart Keith Kollar,of Cockeysville,Md.,one daughter,Mrs.James (Beverlee) Kosdorf,of Pittsburgh,two sisters,Mrs.Hugo (Irma) Vivio of Monessen,and Mrs.Audrey Smith of Munhall,and numerous aunts and uncles in the Charleroi area. Friends will be received at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m.and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m.in the funeral home,with Pastor James M.Robbins of Christ Lutheran Church,Charleroi,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
