p m. He was 65.
Born Feb 8; 1915 in Belle
Vernon; he was the son of James Melvin Haywood of Fredericktown; who survives; and the late Catherine
Guder Haywood. He had been
a resident of Rossiter the past
five years; having formerly
lived in Dunlevy and Allenport.
Mr. Haywood was a former
employee of the Allenport
Plant of the former Pittsburgh Steel Company.
In addition to his father;
survivors include his widow;
Frances Kucia Haywood; a former Donora resident;two sons;Richard W.Powell of Columbus;Ohio;and Clifton E.Powell;a missionary in the Phillipines;a duaghter;Mrs.Judith Ann Bilinski of Redford;Mich.;a brother;Clifton R.Haywood of Phillipsburg;Miss.; a sister;Mary Lou Sowden;wife of Rev.Charles K.Sowden;of Fredericktown;and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1960;and two brothers;Melvin in 1945;and Richard in 1925. Friends will be received in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.and on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m.at the funeral home with the Rev.Frank A.Bednar;pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Rochester;officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson;funeral director;is in charge of arrangements.
