Obituary
Beaten about the face,Special officer Lee J.Beam,of Speers street, Belle Vernon (Speers Borough),was dead on arrival at Charleroi-Monessen Hospital Wednesday night,November 10,1948,after a bizarre combat which State Police were probing. Troopers are holding a 17-year old boy,Vatoren Lee Neth,Coal Center,R.D.,in connection with the death. Mr.Beam was hit about the head and face. He was pronounced dead in the emergency room at 9:15 p.m.,at the hospital. Friends will be received at the Toner Funeral Home. Services will be held there Saturday,November 13,1948,at 2 p.m. Rev.George Kress,pastor of the Belle Vernon Presbyterian Church,will be in charge,and interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Harold R.Toner is the funeral director.
