Henrietta Crawford Smith of 45 Aliquippa Ave.,Monessen died Thursday,Dec. 30,1976 at 5:50 p.m. in Monongahela Division of Mon Valley Hospital,following a four month illness. She was 71. Mrs. Smith was born July 15,1905 in Monessen,a daughter of the late Martin A. and Elizabeth Reeves Crawford. She resided in Monessen for most of her life nd was a member of the First United Methodist Church,Monessen.and member and past president of the United Methodist Women. In addition,Mrs. Smith was a member of the Fellowship Class of the church and was a member for 53 years of Monessen Chapter of Order of Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Advisory Board of Order of Rainbow for girls. Surviving are her widower,Russell (Buck) Smith;two daughters, Mrs. William (Arlene) Weitz of Belle Vernon and Mrs. Delmar (Inette) Kramer of Summerville,S.C.; four grandchildren;a sister,Mrs. Raymond (Miriam) Scales of Monessen;an aunt,Mrs. Charlotta Ferren of Allenport and two nieces. She was preceded in death by a sister,Mrs. Harold (Naomi) Jones in 1954 abd a grandson,William R. Weitz in April 1976. Friends will be received in the Rhome Funeral Home Inc.,1209 Grand Blvd.,Monessen,from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with additional services at 11 a.m. in First United Methodist Church,Monessen, with Rev. Howard E. Kennedy officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Order of Eastern Star services will be held in the funeral home Sunday at 7:30 In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Memorial Fund of First United Methodist Church,Monessen. Rhome funeral directors are in charge of arrangements.
