Full military honors will be given to Marine Lance Corporal Michael Weaver;the 20-year-old Belle Vernon resident who died May 9;1986;in a helicopter crash at Twentynine Palms Marine Base in California. The honors will be given in graveside services at Belle Vernon Cemetery on Friday;May 16;by the First Platoon Truck Company Headquarters Battalion Fourth Marine Division of the Marine Corps Training Center in Connellsville. Captain John Kurek will be in command. Members of the Marine Reserve Unit will act as pallbearers. The graveside honors will follow 11 a.m.services at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home in Belle Vernon;conducted by Rev.Robert Baer;pastor of the Fayette City Christian Missionary and Alliance Church. Mr.Weaver;son of Florence and Anthony Calametti of 111 Elks Place;Belle Vernon;was one of four Marines killed during the crash while involved in field operations at Twentynine Palms. He was stationed at Tustin Marine Base in California and had been serving in the Marine Corps for about 18 months. In addition to his mother and step-father;Mr.Weaver is survived by his twin sister;Michele Canzonieri of Monessen;and three brothers;James of Belle Vernon;Dennis of Fayette City and Dwayne of Baltimore;Md. Friends will be received Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where services will be held Friday;May 16;at 11 a.m.with the Rev.Robert Baer;pastor of the Fayette City Christian Missionary and Alliance Church;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
