On Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, God sent an angel-driven chariot to bring Lawrence M. Johnson Sr., 82, of Pontiac, Mich., home. He was the son of the late Fred and Lucy Johnson Sr. Lawrence was born and raised in Pricedale. With the love of God in his heart and the love for his family, he set out for and made Pontiac, Mich., his home. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and two brothers. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Gloria Johnson, Marvella Johnson, Lawrence M. Johnson Jr., and Marvin Johnson; a host of grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; stepdaughter, Melissa P. Barrett; sisters, Gail (Roderick) Jeter, Audrey M. Johnson; brothers, Fred Patterson Johnson, Douglas Kenneth (Rosetta) Johnson, Donald Cook, Charles Cook, Ralph Cook, and Gaylord Cook; and a host of other numerous relatives and friends. Viewing will be Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014, from 10 a.m. to noon with service to follow in the Antioch Baptist Church, 945 Henry Street, Belle Vernon. Rev. Clifford A. Carter, pastor, will give the Eulogy. Final celebrations have been gently placed in the hands of HOUSE OF JACKSON MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 546 Thompson Ave., Donora, 724-379-5420, Karl Jackson, funeral director.
