Lavina Jean Hewitt McClain, 86, of San Jose, Calif., died Friday, March 27, 2015, in San Jose, Calif. Born Dec. 25, 1928, in Charleroi, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Margaret Sims Hewitt. Lavina was a resident of San Jose since 1971 and is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Carrie McClain, William and Lexie McClain, Stephen and Katia McClain; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. McClain; son, James McClain Jr.; daughter, Joyce Neill; three brothers, Thomas Hewitt, Charles H. Hewitt Jr., and John F. Hewitt; and two sisters, Zeta Morgan and Penny Kerr. Visitation will be held Saturday from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183, followed by funeral services at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev.
