Laura Jean (Brownson) Holler, 90, of Fallowfield Township, wife of Ernst Henry Holler, was born in Ogden, Utah, on March 27, 1925, passed away. Her parents were William White Brownson and Meda Beaver Brownson, both deceased. Laura was a resident of Charleroi and Fallowfield Township since 1945. As a child, Laura had a large extended family in Idaho and Utah. Laura's father, William White Brownson, who died when she was 11, and later, her stepfather, John C. Brownson, were railroad men. Growing up, Laura lived in various railroad depot towns along the Union Pacific lines in Idaho, Utah and Wyoming. Siblings, all of whom are deceased, were William White Brownson Jr. of Harrison, Idaho; Jack Brownson of Federal Way, Wash.; and Beatrice Jimmerson of Ogden, Utah. Laura graduated from Bliss High School in Bliss, Idaho, in 1942. In 1943, she took a job in Ogden at Hill Field, an Army air base where she drove delivery trucks to the prison barracks on the base. There, she met her future husband, Ernst H. Holler, of Charleroi. The couple was married in Elko, Nev., on Dec. 14, 1945. They moved to Charleroi after getting married and Ernie resumed his career in the Monessen plant of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. Laura was a housewife who enjoyed bingo, various card clubs, traveling, movies, backyard bird watching, and was a wonderful mother to her four sons and later, to their families. She is survived by her children, Daryl B. Holler and wife, Margaret Stablein Holler, of Narvon, Pa., with sons Brian, James and Daniel, Dr. Edward W. Holler and wife, Laurie Hodkins Holler, Seaford, Va., with sons Jacob and Alexander, Kenneth M. Holler of Charleroi with daughter, Tara, and fiancée, Ruth Long, and James S. Holler and wife, Marla Fitzpatrick Holler, of Sykesville, Md., with daughters, Ashley and Jordan. Laura leaves eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a granddaughter-in-law, Shana Holler. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Henry Scott Holler. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday and proceed to Mary, Mother of the Church, Charleroi for a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass with the Rev. Gerald Mikonis as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
