Laura Kwiatkowski Hammerash;98;of North Belle Vernon;died Friday;May 13;2011 at 12:15 p.m. Born May 9;1913 in Monessen;she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Ann Popkowki Kwiatkowski. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon;Mrs.Hammerash was a member of St.Sebastian R.C.Church;was a great cook;pie and cake maker;loved gardening and taking care of her flowers and enjoyed dancing. She was a member of the former Catholic Daughters of the Americas B.V.Court 1522;the Tuesday night bowling league and the PNA Lodge of Monessen. She is survived by two sons & one daughter-in-law William J.& Gerry Hammersash of Perryopolis;Daniel W.Hammerash of Belle Vernon;brother Victor Howski of Monessen;two sisters & brothers-in- law Katherine & Frank Strodoski of Dearborne;MI.;Harriet & Raymond Caldwater of Monessen;3 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband William Hammerash;five brothers Chester;Walter;Edmund and Anthony Howski and Leonard Kwiatkowski and a sister Virginia Cristy. Visitation will be held Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Loenard J.Parzynski Funeral Home;Family Owned and Operated;626 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon 724-929-6183. Prayer Service will be held Tuesday at 9:30 am in the funeral home followed by Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St.Sebastian R.C.Church with the Rev.Msgr.Roger A.Stanick;pastor;as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of St.Sebastian Parish will pray the Rosary for the departed soul of Laura Hammerash Monday at 3 pm in the funeral home.
