Obituary

Mrs.Laura Alice Smith,67,of 309 Speer St.,Belle Vernon,died in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital,Monday,Jan.24,1966,at 4:10 p.m.after a lingering illness.   Mrs.Smith was a member of Dames of Malta Lodge,Degree of Honor Lodge,Rebekah Lodge,American Legion Auxiliary to Post 659 and Ladies auxiliary to Fire Dept.no.2,all of Belle Vernon.  She is survived by four daughters,Mrs.Robert (Isabelle) Kyle and Mrs.Evelyn Komlos,both of Belle Vernon,Mrs.Edward (Betty) Sulek of Chester,Pa.,and Mrs.George (Dolores) Usher of Charleroi,a son,James E.of San Francisco,Calif.,two brothers,James Hammitt of Martinez,Calif.,and Howard Johnson of Waynesburg,one sister,Mrs.Ethel Prouence of Masontown and sixteen grandchildren.  Her husband,Bert,is deceased.  Friends will be received at the Harold R.Toner Funeral Home in Belle Vernon after 7 p.m.Jan.25 and thereafter from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m.  Service there Thursday,Jan.27,at 2 p.m.in charge of the Rev.Elmer Lewis.  Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Harold R.Toner,funeral director.
