Obituary

Langford Logan died in 1924. His obit was contributed to the Fayette County USGenWeb Project.(20) The Roscoe Ledger Friday, December 12, 1924 Well Known Resident Of This Section Dies Suddenly Langford Logan, age 75 years, died Wednesday afternoon at 5:45 o'clock, as the result of a paralytic stroke which attacked him suddenly while at the home of his sister, Mrs. Nelson Hallman. Up until the time of his death he was in apparent good health. The deceased was born in Fayette City, and was well known in this part of the Monongahela valley, having lived here for years with his family. He was a old steamboat engineer and plied the rivers from the head water to the gulf for many years. Sometime ago his family moved to Utah where he is survived by his wife, and six sons, William, of Provost City, Utah, Jackson of Salt Lake City, Langford Jr., of Garfield, Utah, Alma of somewhere in Utah, Harry of Los Angeles, Cal., and James whose address is unknown. There sisters also survive. They are Mrs. Nelson Hallman, Mrs. Irvin McKenna of Donora and Mrs. John Mitchell of Brownsville. For the past four years the deceased has made his home between his sister, Mrs. Hallman and his neice, Mrs. Drusilla Gollick. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in charge of Rev. S. M. Mackey of the Roscoe M. E. Church. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
