Kim Smith; 54; of Erie; formerly of Monessen; passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday; Aug. 2; 2011; at Hamot Medical Center in Erie. Born Oct.18; 1956; in Charleroi; he was the son of Frances Mills-Smith of Monessen; who survives; and the late Albert Skeets Smith. In addition to his father; he was preceded in death by three brothers; Lawrence Bunny Smith; William Robert Smith and Al Pee Wee Smith. In addition to his mother; he is survived by six sisters; Ethel (Jim) Smith-Diffendal of Bethel Park; Ruth Smith-Cheatham and Marie (Mack) Smith-Braswell both of Waldorf; Md.; Tina Smith-Bleich of Monessen; Iris Smith-Madison of Pittsburgh and Dyra Smith of Donora; two brothers; Alfred Smith of Monongahela and Peck Smith of Belle Vernon; one uncle; Melvin Mills and one aunt; Dorothy Linton; both of Uniontown; and a host of nieces; nephews; cousins and friends. Family and friends will be received Sunday; Aug. 7 from 4 to 8 p.m. in Union Baptist Church; 670 McMahon Ave.; Monessen. An additional viewing will be held in the church on Monday; Aug. 8; from 10 to 11 a.m.; the hour of service; with Elder Jack Howell officiating. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
