Obituary

Kessler Q.Clegg,82,of 814 Washington Road,Belle Vernon,died Saturday,Feb.25,1995,in the Willis Nursing Home,Homestead. Mr.Clegg was born July 18,1912,in Clarksburg,W.Va.,a son of the late Robert L.and Myrtle Queen Clegg. He retired in 1977 from the Packard Electric Division of General Motors in Warren,Ohio. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church,Charleroi,Charleroi F&AM Lodge No.615,Washington Council No.1,Royal and Select Master Masons of Washington,McKean Commandery No.80,Knights Templar,Monessen Royal Arch Chapter No.290,Charleroi BPO Elks No.484,and the North American Hunting Club. Mr.Clegg was also a life member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite,the Charleroi Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No.167,the Belle Vernon American Legion Post No.659,and the National Rifle Association. He had been a resident of Belle Vernon the past 12 years. Mr.Clegg was a U.S.Navy veteran of World War II where he attained the rank of motor machinist mate second class. His wife,Helen B.Glegg,died Aug.31,1988. Two brothers,Roy Garrett Clegg and Elway Van Clegg,are also deceased. Surviving are one sister,Hazel Southworth of North Charleroi and one sister-in-law,Hilda Clegg of Henderson,Nev. He is also survived by five nieces and one nephew. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon. Services will be held Monday by Belle Vernon American Legion Post No.659 at 7 p.m.and Charleroi F&AM Lodge No.615 at 7:30 p.m.in the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m.in the funeral home with the Rev.Edward Hammitt,pastor,First United Methodist Church,Charleroi,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.is handling arrangements.
