Obituary

Four year old Kenneth Rock, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Rock,South Delaware Avenue, died Thursday afternoon, December 31,1936,in Memorial hospital,Monongahela, from burns received three weeks ago when he was scalded by hot water. According to the child's father, Kenneth came running through a door into the kitchen of the family home. As he passed the stove,he brushed a pail of boiling water. Mrs. Rock, who was standing nearby, made a quick grab for the pail and partially deflected the course of the boiling water to herself. Kenneth, however, was badly burned about the back and left side of the body.  Mrs. Rock's legs were also severly scalded, and she is still under the care of a physician. A few days following the accident the child failed to respond to treatment and was taken to the hospital suffering intense pain.  Death came Thursday afternoon at 1:20 o'clock. Funeral services will be held from the home of his grandmother, Mrs. Louise Rock, 168 Donner Avenue, Saturday morning at 8:30 o'clock. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  He is survved by two brothers and three sisters. They are  Raymond,James,Jannie,Mildred and Rose.
