Kenneth J. Klanchar, 71, of Fairhope (Belle Vernon), went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 6, 2018 in his home surrounded by his family. A son of the late John F. and Helen Tordi Klanchar, he was born in N. Charleroi on November 21, 1946. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Ken had attended the New Hope Assembly of God Church in Elizabeth, was on the Board of Directors of the Washington Twp. Water Authority, and was a member of the Naomi Club and the Star Junction Gun Club. Ken had been employed as a machinist by U.S. Steel, Irvin Works Plant, retiring after over 30 years. Ken was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed gardening. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Retzie Bell Klanchar, two daughters and a son-in-law; Marcy Behary of Galveston, TX, and Michele and Jim Canigiani of Fairhope, three grandchildren; Jake Berestecki (Caitlyn) of West Newton, and Sydney Salka and Kylie Salka, both of Fairhope, and three great-grandchildren; Emma, Ollie, and Ella. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert J. Klanchar, Richard Klanchar, and William Klanchar. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 724-929-5300, 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon.
