Kathryn (Katie) Kunca;84;of 1233 Nash Ave.;Monessen;died Tuesday;Oct.20;1992;in Washington Hospital following a brief illness. Mrs.Kunca was born Oct.10;1908;in California;Pa.;a daughter of the late Andrew and Susan Hanas. A lifelong Monessen resident;she had been employed as a cook at California University of Pennsylvania before retiring. Mrs.Kunca was a member of the Peoples’ Church of Belle
Vernon.
She was a former president of
the Monessen PTA; a former
member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary
of the Monessen Fire Department and Relief Association;
and a former Sunday School
teacher at St. John’s Lutheran
Church in Charleroi.
Mrs. Kunca had been active in
forming the Monessen Band
Parents’ Association.
Surviving are her husband;
Michael Kunca; two sons;
William C. Kunca of Belle Vernon and Michael A. Kunca of
Carolina Beach; N.C.; five
grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers; Andrew Hanas of California; Pa.;
and Robert Hanas of Charleroi;
and two sisters; Mary Neda of
Charleroi and Mildred Hanas of
Brownsville.
Friends will be received
Wednesday from 7 to 9 p m and
Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m. in the Rhome Funeral
Home; Inc.; 1209 Grand Blvd.;Monessen. Services will be conducted in the chapel of the funeral home Friday at 10 a.m.with the Rev.James Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Rhome Funeral Home;Inc.;is in charge of arrangements.
