Obituary

Kathryn Fidnarik Hegedus, 80, of Belle Vernon (Fairhope), died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at 1:10 p.m. at Mt. St. Macrina Manor, Uniontown. Born Jan. 7, 1924, in Fairhope, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna Gurecky Fidnarik. A lifelong resident of Fairhope, Mrs. Hegedus was a member of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church in Fayette City and retired from Miller's Department Store in Charleroi, where she worked as a sales and office clerk. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Louis John and Bonnie Hegedus of Chambersburg, one daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and John Zadrozny of Fairhope, one granddaughter, Amy Daley and husband Mike of Gettysburg, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis P. Hegedus, on Oct. 30, 1995, two brothers, John and Joseph Fidnarik, and three sisters, Mae Zimmaro, Ann Wozniak and Margaret Hoppe. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon (724-929-6183). A prayer service will be held Monday, Nov. 1, at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Spirit R.C. Church with the Rev. Leonard J. McAlpin, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. A Parish Wake service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. The family suggests contributions in memory of Kathryn Hegedus be made to the Washington Township-Fayette City Lions Club.
