She was born in Jefferson Twp.on June 13;1884;a daughter of Winfield Carter and Laura Patterson Carter;and had lived in the Belle Vernon area for 60 years. She was preceded in death by her husband;William H.;in 1936;a daughter;Laura Virginia;in 1920;and a son;Herbert in 1968. Surviving are three sons;George W.of Cleveland;Ohio;William J.of Belle Vernon and Jesse J.of Belle Vernon;one brother;Jesse Carter of Victory Hill;seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Friends are being received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;Belle Vernon;where a funeral service will be Tuesday;Jan.9;at 1:30 p.m.with the Rev.Seth Bower of the First United Methodist Church of Belle Vernon officiating.
