Kathleen V. 'Kay' Alessio, 81, of Rostraver Twp., went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 24, 2020 in her home. A daughter of the late Julius and Grace Carroll Klein, she was born on March 25, 1939. A resident of Rostraver for most of her adult life, she was a faithful member and greeter of the Church of St. Anne Roman Catholic Church of Rostraver Twp. Kay was a dedicated educator and retired in 1998 as the Federal Program Coordinator for the Belle Vernon Area School District. She was a lifelong cat owner and lover and gave generously to both the ASPCA and the PETA. Survivors include one brother, Julius “Jay” Klein of Anderson, SC, a sister-in-law, Linda Klein of Coatesville, a brother-in-law, Robert Nagy of Roscoe, eleven nieces and nephews and many great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Alessio on April 25, 2008, a sister, Eileen Nagy, a brother, Edward Lawrence 'Larry' Klein and a sister-in-law, Joan Klein. Friends will be received from 6 to 9 P.M. Saturday, August 29, 2020 in the Church of St. Anne, 1870 Rostraver Road, Rostraver Twp. with Rev. David Nazimek, Pastor, as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Masks must be worn in the funeral home and the church. Visitors to the funeral home will be limited to 25 people at a time. For the funeral mass, family and friends will go directly to the church.
