Katherine Planey;87;of Fayette City R.D.1 (Gillespie);died Wednesday;April 3;1996;in Mon Valley Hospital following a short illness. Born June 22;1908;in Washington Township;she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Susanna Blasko Planey. Miss Planey was a member of Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church;Charleroi. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by four brothers. Surviving are one sister;Mrs.Norman (Margaret) Foglia of Belle Vernon;and one brother;Mike Planey of Fayette City R.D.1(Gillespie). Friends will be received Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City. A panachida service will be held in the funeral home at 9 a.m. Saturday;followed by Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. in Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church;Charleroi;with the Rev.Wesley Mash as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. A Parastas service will be held Thursday at 5 p.m. in the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home.
