Obituary

Katherine Marinak Dorcon, 82, of Fayette City, died Sunday, July 4, 2004, at 3:50 p.m. at Cherry Tree Nursing Center, Uniontown. Born April 10, 1922, in Thompson One, she was a daughter of the late John and Agnes Shipkovsky Marinak. A homemaker, Mrs. Dorcon was a lifelong resident of Fayette City and a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church in Belle Vernon. She also was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Belle Vernon Court 1522, the Friends of the Veterans of Belle Vernon and the Compacs Bowling League at Lynnwood Lanes for 36 years. She is survived by two sons and three daughters-in-law, Dennis M. and Carolyn Dorcon of Monessen, Joseph Jr. and Virginia Dorcon of Fayette City, and Linda Dorcon of Berlin, two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Edward Weisdack of Spring Hill, Fla., and Christine and George Dudzinski of Fayette City, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Kay and Paul Fredrick of Craven Hill, Charleroi, and Agnes and Emil DeAngelis of Butler, 11 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph T. Dorcon, in 1993, and one son, Thomas J. Dorcon. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon (724-929-6183). A prayer service will be held Wednesday, July 7, at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. Lawrence L. Manchas V.F. as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of St. Sebastian parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Katherine Dorcon on Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
