Karen R. Burks Long Lowe; 46; of Monessen; died Thursday; Jan. 15; 2004; at 10:49 p.m. in Monongahela Valley Hospital. She was born Sept. 29; 1957; in Brownsville; a daughter of the late Lawrence and Ruth Garee Burks. Presbyterian by faith; she was a resident of Monessen for the past 20 years and a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 940 of Brownsville. Mrs. Lowe is survived by her husband; Robert T. Lowe of Monessen; one daughter and son; Tracey Long of Cockeysville; Md.; and Charles Long of Cleveland; Ga.; one sister; Mrs. Thomas (Linda) Carlock of Brownsville; and one niece and nephew; Lori Burks and fiance Rick Pellick; and Danny Burks; both of Grindstone. Friends will be received Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m. in the YONEY and DEROSE FUNERAL HOME; 100 Schoonmaker Ave.; Monessen. A funeral service will be held Monday; Jan. 19 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home followed by interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
