Obituary

Julia “Jay” Bartolozzi, 96, of Dunlevy, crossed peacefully into Heaven on Good Friday, March 29, 2013, in the Dunlevy Personal Care Gardens. She was born Aug. 22, 1916, in Charleroi, the daughter of the late John and Mary Hamonko Katinsky. Julia was past president of the Dunlevy Ladies Auxiliary, a member of Mary, Mother of the Church Parish and local card clubs. She made everything by hand from cooking to baking and clothing, her pies and ravioli were legendary. She was a wonderful homemaker and master of all it entailed. Some of her favorite pastimes were playing cards, fishing, gardening and gambling with many happy trips to Reno, Las Vegas, Canada, Florida and throughout California into Mexico. Her most favorite things were family dinners at home and her Russian Christmas traditions, we have lost the last of her “Great Generation” and she will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered. Mrs. Bartolozzi is survived by her sons, Frank Bartolozzi and wife, Betty, and Craig Bartolozzi and wife, Beth, of Dunlevy, her daughter, Carole Chacko and husband, Rich, of Carmichael, Calif., grandchildren, Pamela, Julie, Georgia, Richard, Matthew and Melina, great-grandchildren, Bailey, Alex, Jonathan, Robert, Brenda, Grace, Gianna, Caitlyn and Lauren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bartolozzi was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Dewey Bartolozzi (2009), a sister, Anna Bartolozzi, and two brothers, Toby Katinsky and Michael Cutton. The family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to the owners and staff at Dunlevy Gardens as well as Viaquest Hospice staff for the loving, tender and professional care given to our mother. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the SCHROCK-HOGAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013, in Mary, Mother of the Church, 7th and Washington Ave., Charleroi, celebrated by The Rev. Gerald Mikonis.
